Is this transition supposed to make the forums popular again?

Kinda.
See, i've been working on this community idea for a while, the idea could possibly be older than this forum. Anyway, this forum here has been struggling for a while, and I think you, Joe, Mike and everyone would like the features that I am pushing into this other project. the idea is, to still keep Dan's Forum it's own separate section, just inside a larger forum, with more features, you know? If you guys felt this wasn't the right choice, I wouldn't do it, but the thing is, it seems like this would indeed be the best idea. we'd be able to retain the posts, the users, etc, and give the current users here, their own section, while at the same time, having the bigger forum and features to use.

Well, due to a lot of overload with the webhosting biz lately, I haven't had much time to work on the project. The best estimate I can give you if sometime between now and the end of the year, hopefully.

I'm all for that idea. Any way to get more traffic is always good.
