Got a question or two regarding academic advisement and orientation. On the website, it says an orientation session is mandatory, but the last letter I got from Southern Crescent (acceptance for the Winter Quarter), it makes no mention of a date for orientation. On the site, there's a PDF file to look at regarding orientation, which I'm starting to do now. Is there a physical orientation where you go to the school in person or not?

And about advisement, there's supposed to be sessions from November 29th to December 2nd if I'm correct. Do you have to schedule anything with SC, or do you just walk in and show up?

Thanks again.

Oh, with orientation, I saw on one of the slides that you're supposed to sign something and submit it to the admissions office, so I guess that solves that problem.

Also, I noticed the letter mentions advisement being at 3:30, which implies that you go there in person. Still not sure if you need to call in before hand or not, though.

Orientation is the same day as registration, they have about 4 or 5 of them. orientation is basically listening to the people in charge brag about the college, and then you go into large rooms, and wait for someone to be available to register you.
Oh and schedule, ha. That college isn't smart enough to know what a schedule is.

Lol. So from what you're talking about, it sounds like the 4-5 days of "orientation" might sort of be the advisement thing mentioned in the letter, right? Guess next week I just walk in and show up I suppose.

To tell you the truth, I have no idea what the hell advisement is.
It is not orientation though. Orientation is on the same day as registration.
Be prepared to stand, as there are 3 hour lines on registration/orientation days.

I think some things might have changed since you first went to Griffin Tech. All I know about orientation is that apparently it's now just a PDF slideshow you watch and then print out the last sheet, sign it, and turn it in to the admissions office. And as far as I know for advisement, it says in the letter I got that sessions are available next week so you register for the right classes - and mentions that online registration is from December 6th to 19th.

As I said, unless I'm mistaken, it seems some things may have changed since you started going, so I'll just do what the letter says and see what happens.

Ok.
Things were so bad, I didn't get the letter till I went for registration. I made them print it.

What letter? The "acceptance" letter? If so, that is pretty bad!
