Someone was using Windows 3.1 to hit my site today. I am not gonna get into how horrible it must look on an old browser today, Oh no. I am too big a geek to do that. The fact that anyone could find a modem compatible with Windows 3.1 really amazes me. I congratulate whoever this is, as this made my day. I love Windows 3.1 still, even though it is old.

Yeah, I agree, with the way internet is so fancy now, it'd be interesting to find someone that could actually view this forum with a Windows 3.1-compatible modem. Maybe they're using a virtual machine, but even so, I don't know if the modem would work in that environment.

And yeah, I, too, like Win 3.1. Not just that but pretty much all the old operating systems (mainly the ones from the early-to-mid '90s). I dunno why, but I just like how simple yet relatively user friendly they were (the Windows ones, anyway). Windows 1.0 and 2.0 are interesting to look at from a collector's point of view, but graphically speaking, they're not my favorites. Windows 3.x, 95, and XP are my favorites graphically speaking. And I don't just like old OSes but old PCs, too. There's just something about them that's different from modern machines that's more appealing (even if they're less sophisticated). I really wish now that I hadn't gotten rid of that TeleVideo :(. Oh well.

You know I do too. Why else would I post this?
I installed Windows 3.1 on my brand new Win 98 computer back in the day. :)

Really? Huh. Guess I'll go uninstall Windows XP on my laptop and install either Windows 95 or 2000 on it - lol! Actually, seriously, once I get my files backed up on my laptop, I might try installing those on it sometime for a short time.

Also, on my iBrowse computer, I used to have Windows 95, but earlier this year, I installed MS-DOS 5.0 and Windows 3.1 in its place. I'm eventually going to put 95 back on but perhaps have it so I can switch between DOS, 3.1, and 95.
